Historical part of Progres
Aft cabin
Originally the main accommodation for Progres's crew, the aft cabin remains in it's original form with two cabins accessed of the larger living space. The interior has original varnished hardwood timber paneling, parquet flooring and green marble window cills throughout. The living space is dual aspect with original drop feed oil fire with green marble surround. The ornate hardwood timber doors have decorative bevelled cut glass panels and original ironmongery. The living space has built-in joinery including panelled cupboards to either side of the fireplace and cabinets with green marble tops . The larger cabin has a built-in double bed and wardrobe and the smaller cabin also has a built-in bed with vanity unit with marble frame top and mirror surround. This has the potential to become a separate self contained guest accommodation.(The current owner had intentions to convert the smaller cabin into a bathroom) |
Wheelhouse
The original wheelhouse which had been damaged overtime has been replaced. The new wheelhouse has been crafted in Iroko to match the styling of the original, albeit extended by one bay to the front enabling more head room to the hull. The interior has been insulated and re-panelled. The roof has been replaced and has been covered with removable canvass top. |
Study/Lobby
Also known as the "dog house", this room used to be galley area of Progres during it's working life. Accessible directly from the wheelhouse and main living space, the lobby/ study area is a bright space with large cloak cupboard and built-in study area. Engineered oak flooring.
